The idea

The idea for Hotelizer was born from the real need of a Wapp client who owned three hotels and wanted remote access to all of them from a single computer. This sparked the concept of creating a cloud-based software that would allow any hotel owner or manager to have full control of their property from anywhere, via computer, tablet, or mobile device.

By analyzing market needs and leveraging its experience in developing cloud ERP systems and internet technologies, Wapp team developed an innovative, fast, and secure PMS, focusing on five key pillars:

Simplicity & immediacy with unlimited possibilities

For the development of Hotelizer, we leveraged modern technologies such as React, Node.js, serverless architecture, and Progressive Web Apps (PWA). This combination allowed us to create a platform with high performance, scalability, and flexibility across all devices. Thanks to this technological foundation, Hotelizer supports real-time push data, displaying every system update instantly. When a booking is created or modified, during check-in, or when an invoice is updated, the information appears immediately for all users managing the hotel, without waiting or refreshing the page.

One of the features we wanted to set Hotelizer apart from competitors was the booking calendar. We used cutting-edge technologies to create a tool that is simple to use, yet extremely powerful and customizable, offering fast loading for all information. Through the interactive calendar, administrators can add or cancel bookings, change dates and rooms, perform check-in and check-out, and view all details for each reservation (source, payment, status, etc.) while executing actions. Additionally, each user can customize the calendar according to their needs, selecting which information to display, its size, and layout.

Furthermore, we developed a billing tool that acts as a guide, making the process of issuing invoices simple, fast, and error-free. Whether it’s a straightforward stay reservation or a complex booking with multiple extras, the tool automatically generates the appropriate documents (invoices or receipts), providing hoteliers with significant time savings and absolute accuracy.

Compliance with legislation

A particular challenge was adapting Hotelizer to hotel tax regulations and the myDATA platform of the Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE). The software automatically generates invoices and receipts (including accommodation tax and climate change fees) and sends them electronically, providing hotel owners with full compliance with regulations and automation of processes.

Additionally, due to the international reach of the software, it had to be adapted to tax standards and regulations in other countries, such as the UK, Italy, Cyprus, Germany, and more, making it a suitable tool for hotels across Europe and beyond.

Mobile Applications

Additionally, Wapp developed mobile applications (PWAs) both for Hotelizer and for the housekeeping staff. These apps are not just a “light” version of the software, but fully featured toolkits that allow users to easily manage all functions directly from their mobile devices.

Hotelizer now belongs to the webhotelier | primalres group, the leading travel tech company in Greece, and is one of its core products, alongside the webhotelier booking engine, the primalres channel manager, the loggia property management software for rental accommodations, and the roompay payment gateway.
